(In calculus, we’re studying derivatives. The professor writes an equation on the board and then looks to the class for direction on what to do next, as he usually does. Also as usual, no one says anything until he prompts us. He’s looking for the term “product.”)
Professor: “Come on, what’s the magic word…?”
Student: “…Please?”
Professor: “Try again, but it does start with ‘p.'”
Student: “Pretty please?”
