Rates Fit For A Nazarene

(I am chatting with my next door neighbor about some work we had done on our house. My neighbor and I are both Catholic.)

Me: “If you ever need small jobs done fast, we can give you his number. He does this stuff on the side, and can generally come out at any time as long as it isn’t a Saturday.”

Neighbor: “Does he work then?”

Me: “No, he’s Jewish.” *pause* “I guess we did the good Catholic thing and hired a Jewish carpenter.”

Neighbor: “Hey, it was good enough for Mary.”
