(My friend and I go to an outlet mall. The official opening hour is 10 am. We arrive a couple minutes past 10 am, and see a crowd of people at the door.)
Me: “What’s going on? Why is everyone outside?”
Stranger #1: “It’s supposed to open at 10 am! It’s now past that and the door’s not open!”
Stranger #2: “Yeah, we are still waiting for the door to open so that we can go in.”
(I reached out and turned the knob. The door opened easily and my friend and I walked in, followed by a crowd of sheepish-looking people.)
