My BFF and I are big allies and advocated for LGBTQ+. We often get asked if we’re a lesbian couple, which we aren’t. We don’t take offence to this and have started to make it into a joke (like calling each other BAE or making sexual innuendos).

Me: My nails are so long, I love them!

BFF: I hate it when my nails are long.

Me: Oh but I love the tapping sound they make. (Examines nails) But I guess it rules out sex for both of us until I get them cut

My BFF bursts out laughing and the two strangers who were walking behind us suddenly backed off leaving a lot of space between us and them
